- 330d (B57) Stage 1: 340-370 hp, 750-800 Nm
- 335d (B57 – twin-turbo): standard 340 hp, 700 Nm – Stage 1 typically 400-430 hp, 800-850 Nm
Real-world drive: the 330d is the sweet spot of the range – fast, refined, and economical on a Stage 1 file. The 335d is genuinely rapid, with a sub-5-second 0-60 achievable on Stage 1.

The N-series diesel family (N47, N57)

320i / 330i (B48)

M135i / M140i (B58)
The B58 is one of the most tuneful engines BMW has ever made. A Stage 1 file on an M135i or M140i typically delivers +50-80 hp and +60-100 Nm, with the car transforming from “very fast” to “genuinely rapid”. Stage 2 builds (with downpipe, intercooler, intake) regularly see 450-500 hp, with a small number of well-engineered examples breaking 500 hp on pump fuel.
DSG and automatic TCU re-cal
Most modern BMWs are automatic (ZF 8-speed on most current models). A remap on an automatic BMW is most effective when paired with a TCU (transmission control unit) re-cal – the standard gearbox mapping has torque limiters that activate with the increased engine output.
